New · AI instructor
Learn to fly drones with an artificial intelligence instructor
Captain Pitot flies with you and reviews every flight.
An FPV pilot with his goggles pushed up on his forehead and the transmitter round his neck. He speaks with his own voice, explains with his hands how it should have been flown and, when he shows a correction, his hand and the sticks on his transmitter perform the manoeuvre.

Instructor replay: your flight and the correction, side by side.
It replays your flight and stops at every mistake: it warns you beforehand, explains what happened and shows you the correction with a blue aircraft that the simulator really flies, with its physics, from a few seconds before the mistake. At the top you see your sticks and those of the correction.
- Stalls, excessive speed or bank, vortex ring state, low transitions, hard landings and crashes
- If you crash, the correction keeps flying so you can see how it would have ended
- Press “Ask” and he answers about that moment of the flight

When you land, your summary and your debrief.
Like the summary in DJI goggles: time, distance, maximum altitude and speed, battery, minimum voltage and current. Below, a score out of 100 and what happened, each point with how to correct it. And you can ask him anything you like about that flight.
- Rule-based debrief always available, and an analysis written by the AI with one click
- The AI uses your flight data and the real ArduPlane parameter names
Live instructor
Instant technique alerts —speed just right, overspeed, bank, low and descending, low transition— and an AI comment every 25 s on what you are doing.
Tailor-made missions
Type what you want to practise, for example “vertical landings with an 8 m/s crosswind and a motor failure at the end”, and you get the mission with its wind, its failures and its checked steps.
Training plan
He reviews your latest flights, lessons and challenges, tells you what you do well and what to work on, and suggests your next sessions with a measurable goal.
Always at hand
Ask him about any simulator feature from his chat, on any screen. Offline or without AI, the rule-based debrief still works.

Black box and replay
Every flight leaves a log you can read.
It records at 20 Hz from arming to disarming. When you land you get the summary, the attitude, motor, battery, control and wind graphs, and the list of events with their explanation: why VTOL assist kicked in, when the transition was completed.
- Replay the flight in 3D, with or without Captain Pitot, and jump to any event
- Compare with the log from your real aircraft (ArduPilot .bin) overlaid on the graphs
- Export to CSV to analyse it elsewhere

New · remote instructor
Your instructor, in your flight, from home.
You send them a link and they join from their computer's browser, wherever they are. They see your flight live, talk to you by voice and run the lesson as they would at the flying field.
- They trigger motor, radio, battery, airspeed sensor or GPS failures, and change the wind, the time of day and the exercise
- They take the controls with their transmitter, like a trainer cable; you take them back whenever you want
- When you finish they leave you a score and a comment in your logbook

New · logbook and certificates
Your logbook fills itself in.
Every flight is logged when you disarm: aircraft, scenario, time in each mode, landings, transitions, debrief score and the lesson or mission you were doing. Simulator hours and those on your real aircraft (by telemetry or entered by hand) are always kept separate.
- Pilot level by hours and by demonstrated skills, with badges
- Six courses with a PDF certificate and verification code: basic VTOL, AUTO missions, inspection, remote sensing, EASA/AESA regulations and drone-in-a-box operator
- Export the logbook as a signed PDF or as CSV, and access it on any computer with your account

New · EASA/AESA regulations
Prepare for A1/A3 and A2 by flying.
Theory with exam-style questions and their explanation, in-flight practice that applies the rules and a mock exam with a 75 % pass mark, like AESA's.
- Question bank for A1/A3, A2 and STS standard scenarios, with Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and the Spain-specific rules
- Practice: 120 m ceiling above the ground, 30 m (or 5 m at low speed) from people in A2 and ENAIRE UAS geographical zones
- Coordination in a UAS geographical zone: request to the heliport, the airport or ENAIRE with its notice period, start and end call to the zone manager speaking into the microphone and flight complying with their conditions, helicopter alert included
- Course with a verifiable certificate in the logbook. It is preparation: it does not replace the official AESA exams
How Captain Pitot works
Captain Pitot is AIRLAB FPV's artificial intelligence instructor: he analyses the data from every flight and explains what happened and how to improve it.
What data he analyses
The flight's black box, recorded at 20 Hz from arming: attitude, speed, altitude, motors, battery, controls, wind, modes and events such as VTOL assist kicking in or the end of the transition.
How he recommends
First a rule-based debrief, always available; with one click, an analysis written by the AI with the real ArduPlane parameter names. Every point comes with its correction.
Post-flight report
Summary with time, distance, altitudes, speeds and battery, a score out of 100, the replay that shows the correction and the option to ask about any moment.
Plan and follow-up
He reviews your latest flights, lessons and challenges, and suggests your next sessions with a measurable goal. Everything stays in your logbook.
Support for the human instructor
The remote instructor joins from their browser, sees the flight, talks, triggers failures and takes the controls; the AI leaves the lesson to them and saves them reviewing every log.
Educational use
For understanding mistakes and practising with judgement. AI analysis has a daily usage limit; offline, the rule-based debrief still works.
Captain Pitot is a learning aid. He is not an official instructor and does not replace training or exams recognised by AESA. More on drone pilot training with a simulator.
